Puzzle Doctrine
Solve Artifact puzzles by reading the room's shape, material clue and permitted tool instead of reproducing somebody else's tunnel.
What this report solves
Read before acting
Puzzle rooms constrain normal factory behaviour on purpose. Building or weapons may be disabled, but at least one relevant tool remains available. Inspect the room before cycling through the toolbar.
Look for wall symbols, a single highlighted material, repeated geometry and empty space that suggests where a transformed material should move.
Frostbed bridge
In the blue chamber with Frostbed above a Water pool, the vertical arrangement is the clue.
- Use the permitted tool to break or disturb the Frostbed.
- Let the resulting Snow fall into the Water.
- Wait for the Water to become Ice.
- Cross the new solid surface and continue to the reward.
The room is testing the same Water + Snow reaction used in factories, only under tighter tool rules.
Dark maze
Bring or unlock the light source the room expects. Follow one wall consistently, note each branch, and backtrack as soon as a corridor dead-ends. Random digging is unavailable because navigation, not excavation, is the mechanic.
Circuit rooms
At least one puzzle uses circuitry rather than a direct material reaction. Treat each visible element as input, state or output. Change one connection at a time and observe what the room acknowledges before making the next change.
Failure modes
- Fixed coordinates fail because cave generation and approach routes vary.
- Brute-forcing every tool hides the material clue that explains the room.
- Leaving before interacting with the Artifact turns a solved puzzle into an unrecovered reward.
